Monarch Migration

Leamington's unique climate is an important destination for the Monarch butterfly, during their migration period. Point Pelee welcomes these beautiful creatures every year, to their Monarch Trail. Prior to flying to Central Mexico, the Monarchs always stop at Point Pelee for their cool climate, trees and water point. Point Pelee's trees are an excellent resources for the Monarchs to lay in on warm days. Their offspring will then arrive in Point Pelee, in the early Spring and start the process of Migration.
